27-12-24

WeDesign Beirut 2024, held from May 23 to 26 in Beirut, Lebanon, was a four-day celebration of design and creativity. The event featured a rich program of designer showcases, installations, talks, and workshops spanning interior design, architecture, furniture, product design, functional art, ceramics, home accessories, and rugs.

Douaihy Pour Le Bois contributed to several key aspects of WeDesign Beirut, integrating its expertise and sustainable materials into the event’s core themes:

- We Empower at PSLab: Building and supplying benches, tables, and wall panels for the Métiers d’Art exhibition, which showcased Lebanon’s artisanal heritage through intricate works in copper, wood, and rattan.

- We Preserve at Villa Audi: Supplying flooring platforms to complement the historic Ottoman palace and its private museum of Roman and Byzantine mosaics, where a collective exhibition of over 30 product designers celebrated regional heritage.

- We Sustain at Union Marks: Providing wood-based sustainable materials for Michel Breidi's installation and constructing the two winning designs by Holy Spirit University of Kaslik students, Etienne Lahoud and Gaelle El Khoury, as part of the Douaihy Pour Le Bois and EGGER competition. Their designs embodied the theme "Sustainability Meets Functional Minimalism" in collaboration with Holy Spirit University of Kaslik.

This collaboration highlighed the innovative and sustainable vision of Douaihy Pour Le Bois, combining tradition with forward-thinking design to enhance urban and creative spaces.
