Students from the “Urban Wooden Furniture Design & Construction” studio at the Lebanese American University (LAU), led by Associate Professor in Practice Antoinette Lahoud, showcased remarkable creativity by designing innovative urban benches for their semester project. Collaborating with Douaihy Pour Le Bois and using sustainable EGGER OSB materials, four groups of students explored unique themes, ranging from cars and religion to children and fishermen, to design and build functional and inspiring urban furniture. The benches, meticulously constructed at Douaihy Tech, were evaluated by a distinguished jury, culminating in the recognition of Group A as the winners. This initiative highlights the students' limitless potential and their vision for enhancing urban spaces through thoughtful and impactful design.
